16:15 by FoxTwo I was just watching Spiderman 3 recently, and there's this scene where Peter Parker brought Mary Jane to a nice fancy French restaurant with the intention to propose to her. It was here that she met Gwen Stacy. During the meeting, Gwen happen to mention casually that Peter talks about Mary Jane all the time. After the meeting, Mary Jane was somewhat angry that Peter Parker made no mention at all of Gwen Stacy to her.
This scene kinda reminded me of my own encounters. "You never told me about her!" was the usual thing they'd say if I happen to bump into any female friends out there.
Here's the answer why men don't mention other women to their girlfriends/wives - Of course not, duh! That's cos they aren't IMPORTANT in our lives! We do talk about our girlfriends to OTHER women cos, well, we love you, right? You're important to us, right? So we think about you and talk about you, right?
No we're not "hiding" any secret love affair outside. "Not mentioning" and "avoiding the topic" are 2 different things. If Mary Jane came out and asked Peter Parker specifically about Gwen Stacy and he tries to avoid the topic, THEN something is up with them. If he doesn't, and just only "did not mention" her to Mary Jane, then Gwen isn't important in Peter Parker's life.
Yeah I have had that argument a few times.. and each time, it's always MY fault for "not mentioning" other women. Why don't they ever yell at me for "not mentioning Steve" or "not mentioning David" to them? Why must they always yell at me for "not mentioning Carol" or "not mentioning Theresa"?
Secondly, talking about the love of my life to "Theresa" or "Carol" serves a second purpose - tells 'em I'm "not looking" and "nothing's gonna happen beyond a cup of coffee".
Ladies, you should be flattered that you are "talked about" all the time to the other, non-essential women.
And stop yelling at your man for it. If they didn't mention the women, they just didn't think it was important enough to WORTH a mention.
