People Actually Believe THESE?!
I still don't get it.
After so many years being on the Internet, why are people STILL falling for stuff like this?
I know you've been told these kinda things are hoaxes. But why still so kiasu and forward it anyway? Think logically. In your company, when you need to find out which of your customers are "inactive", do you send an email out to them and tell 'em to forward it on to other customers?? And if the customer you send to, doesn't forward it, you'll delete them?
Or, is there an easier way for you to tell if your customer is inactive? Yes there is! Just go to your computer, call up a report screen, and filter for "last active date". It'll tell you. Isn't this FASTER and MORE ACCURATE way of know which one of your customers is inactive?
Here's another one:
Ok, I really don't get it how people will BELIEVE BS like this. First off, look at the letter.... "If you don't do this, you'll repent later"... Repent? what? Repent for which sin? Or should it have been "regret" Secondly, how will Internet Explorer "track" your emails, especially if you're using a web-based mail and not Outlook? And if you believe Microsoft is able to track your email, don't you think it can track other.... err.. more "interesting" stuff on your computer too? Shouldn't you be indignant instead of euphoric? It's an invasion of privacy!
No my friends, Microsoft (or any other company) will never give away cash in this manner. Forwarding emails is nigh-on untrackable, or the cost of doing so is too much to justify the effort or vice versa. Would YOUR company do this?
This is similar to those "Oh gawd I'm dying of cancer. Please forward this mail and for every mail you forward I get 10 cents donated towards my surgery" mails. Folks, it can't be done. The costs of tracking email may as well be donated directly to the dying girl/boy instead of wasting it tracking emails and then assigning 10 cents per mail to the surgery!
And, don't get me started about those "This is the latest virus! Even Microsoft can't stop it and has confirmed it's very dangerous" mails. THEY ARE ALL FAKE! Why should Microsoft even care about viruses? They not into the Anti-Virus market!
Geesh... next time you guys get any of these, please do me a favour. DELETE 'em instead of forwarding them on.

Friendster system is getting too crowded!! We need you to forward this to at least 20 people. I know this seems like a large number, but we need to find out who is using their account. If you do not send this to at least 20 Friendster members, we will delete your account. WARNING! We want to find out which users are actually using their friendster accounts. So if you are using your account, please pass this e-mail to every Friendster user that you can. IF YOU DO NOT PASS this letter to anyone we will delete your account. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Mr. Allen Smith
Manager, Friendster

This thing is for real. Rest assured AOL and Intel will follow through with their promises for fear of facing a multimillion-dollar class action suitsimilar to the one filed by PepsiCo against General Electric not too long ago.
Dear Friends; Please do not take this for a junk letter. Bill Gates sharing his fortune. If you ignore this, You will repent later. Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test. When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (If you are a Microsoft Windows user)? For a two weeks time period. For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay you $245.00 For every person that you sent it to that forwards it on, Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and ! for every third person that receives it, You will be paid $241.00. Within two weeks, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a check.
