12:03 by FoxTwo I am still "between jobs". The funny thing is, I am learning more things related to my career now than when I was working. When you are at work, you are grinding (kind of like how you grind xps in an MMO). You do the same stuff over and over and over and over and ov.....
Um ok where was I? Oh right, yes. About movies. Yup, during my current extended vacation, I picked up a new "craze" if you can call it that. With that, I learnt a new word - "Machinima". Go ahead, Google it. Wiki it. Find out what it says.
In simple terms, Machinima is making movies with 3D virtual models from existing game engines. In other words, if you have captured your action in Battlefield 2 killing your friend and you put it up on the web, you have made a "machinima" although it might be a primitive one. More elaborate machinimas involve heavy scripting to make the models become "actors", and people actually do voice-overs to these movies. A fine example of one is (dang I lost the link to this one) the clip where they used the Half Life 2 game and made a scene from A Few Good Men using G-Man model as Colonel Jessop (Jack Nicholson's character).
So yeah, with this new craze I made 2 new movies from Everquest 2. Check 'em out here! In fact I have even distributed them via Bittorrent network, and even saw a copy active in E-Donkey now.
